You will be advised to undergo same blood tests for checking your fitness for surgery and to rule out other doubt and concerns

Anaesthesia

Typically a day care procedure. Breast enhancement surgery is done under general anaesthesia or regional nerve blocks

Procedure

Incision may be given under the breast (inframammary) or around the areola (periareolar) or lower edge of arm pit and then a pocket is created beneath the breast tissue (sub mammary) or under the muscle (sub muscular) and the implant is placed.

The standard operating time for breast augmentations varies from one and half to two and half hours.

    Post Operative Care for Belly Button Reshaping

    Immediately after the surgery

    Patients will be made to walk on the same day of the surgery to ensure that blood clots do not form in the legs. Drinking plenty of fluids and eating a healthy diet is recommended.

    The weeks that follow

    Supportive bra may be advised for a period of 4 weeks. Refrain from raising arms beyond 30 degrees for a week. It may be necessary to visit the outpatient clinic for dressing changes till the suture lines heal or dry up.

    Full recovery timeline

    You may resume work in 2-3 weeks time from your surgery. Scar modulation creams may be recommended for softening the scars. Lymphatic massages once the suture line is dry which improves the breast contours. It may take 3 months for one to appreciate the final results.

    FAQ

    • Breast augmentation surgery should only be performed when the breasts are fully developed.  After that, it can be performed on women of any age.
    • Wait for the swelling to completely subside. This can take up to 2-3 months. At that time, you may shop for new bras that fit your new breast size and shape. Avoid wearing underwired bra for the first 6 months post surgery.

    Implant-related Risks:

    • Capsular contracture: Scar tissue tightens around the implant, causing hardening and discomfort. This might require additional surgery.
    • Implant rupture or leakage: While uncommon, implants can rupture or leak, requiring removal or replacement.
    • Changes in nipple or breast sensation: Altered sensation in the nipple or breast area can occur, possibly temporary or permanent.
    • Fluid collection (seroma): Fluid buildup around the implant may require drainage
    • Yes, there will be a scar after breast augmentation surgery. Since the procedure involves making incisions to insert the implants, some degree of scarring is inevitable. However, the good news is that these scars can be minimized and often fade significantly over time.
